Received interview letter on 6th Sep 2019 ( Before the visa bulletin was out )
Interview date: 10th Oct 2019
The derivative beneficiary ( child ) was to turn 21 on 12th Oct.
On day of interview:
Took us in 45min before Interview time
Had to wait a few lines
Indian officer helps arranging documents
Indian officer takes a small Interview and takes passport
After this had to wait for a long time
American Consular officer then takes Interview along with the Gujarati translator
CO: who is sponsoring you
Applicant: Brother
CO: When was the last time you'll met face to face
Applicant: States the year
CO: Do you have any joint sponsor
Applicant : No
CO asks the child: Are you married
Child: No
CO: You can't get married before entering US
Child: Yes, I know
CO: Everything on your case looks fine but your brother's income is not sufficient. You will need a joint sponsor.
Hands out 221g for joint sponsor.
Ceac status from Ready to Adminstrative Processing
11st Oct ( next day ): Drop off joint sponsor docs
12,13,14 Oct : Holiday. Everything closed
15 Oct : Ceac date changes. Passport and docs reach the consulate
16 Oct : Ceac status AP-Date Change ---> Ready ---> AP
17 Oct Ceac status AP-Date Change ---> Issued
20 Oct : Passport collected
