Had an interview on October 10th at 12.15 pm. We arrived at about 11.45 am. Parking was a little tight but we found a spot. We went through airport like security and were asked to submit the appointment letter to window 2. At 12.30 pm officer asked the husband (USC) to come inside. Officer asked for documents (bank statements, health and car insurance, mail, etc). Then swore the husband in and started asking questions:
When did you started dating?
When did you get married?
Did the wife meet husband's parents?
When was the last time you and your wife saw your parents?
When was the last time you and your wife saw other members of the family?
What was your day like yesterday?
What did you have for dinner last night?
What is your favorite pizza place?
There were some more questions about our relationships too. It lasted for about 25 minutes.
Then the officer interviewed the wife (beneficiary). He swore in and confirmed information in the I-485. Went through a long list of yes/no questions. Then asked the same questions that he asked the husband. Turns out, we did well mostly, so officer said he is going to recommend us for approval, that the green card will be only for 2 years and we will need to remove conditions so we should work on our bona fides. He gave the paper saying that the case is under review. That was it - totally maybe 40 minutes.
Overall, it was not completely easy but the officer was friendly and professional. It seems like Indy office tends to interview spouses separately more often - we saw quite a few couples being asked separately.
On October 11th the case was updated to Approved!
