Dublin, Ireland | Review on August 14, 2019: | LFP

Obviously very happy with the outcome as my visa was approved on the day.
I had my interview on July 16th, 2019. I had previously read some reviews on the Embassy in Dublin so I knew what to expect but what I found was different to those I had read. Here is my experience - perhaps it will help someone else.
I arrived 45 minutes early and spoke to security officers at the gate - they asked that I come back 15 minutes before the interview time as the embassy was closed for lunch. I returned and joined a queue of people to the right of the gate. Here they take you in one by one, inspect your bag, empty water bottles, take your phone to put in the lockbox, and pass through a metal detector. They give you a lanyard with the key to the box.
From here I walked up the ramp to a door at the side of the building. Here I passed another detector. The officer there asked if I was here for a visa or an interview and what time. I was directed to join the queue to the left of the room (The right of the room is for American citizen services). I joined the queue, they called next, went to the window called and was asked for certain documents. This is the initial inspection of documents to ensure you have everything that was requested. They ask you to take a seat and wait to be called for the interview.
The interviewer calls your name, go to another window, swear to tell the truth, give fingerprints, and respond to questions. They were simple enough - US citizens name, date of birth, place of birth, how did you meet, tell them about the USC. I was also asked about my future stepchildren, the relationship I have with them, how I was able to keep in contact with them, and finally if dealing with an ex spouse comes with any challenges we face as a couple.
I was told then congratulations that I was approved and my passport would be sent to my chosen pickup location in up to 10 business days.
My passport was sent 3 days later (Friday) and available for pick up the following business day (Monday).
The people in the Embassy were friendly, chatted easily. The waiting area comes with some tension as those waiting for interviews are nervous whereas you can hear laughter and chatting from the US citizens services area.
Best of luck to those that interview there.
