First they sorted out our paperwork. If you have originals and copies, leave the copies out. (We had an extra folder where we had documents we might need. I would recommend putting any copies there.) The Ukrainian lady at the window was very kind, and helped my fiancee, this took about 10 minutes. We then waited about 15 minutes. Our consular officer was very nice and started with a few questions to me. What part of my state was I from, how was it there? Then he asked my fiancee how we met, if she had relatives in USA, he also asked about her previous attempt to get a business Visa and how many times I visited. Then they chatted a while, then he asked her daughter about her school and if she spoke English. Listen to the questions as they were worded in a manner to test what you have said in your documents. Then after a pleasant chat we were approved. It took a few minutes for us to really understand, but then happiness set in. If you travel with children from previous marriages, bring copies, don't bring originals. You will need the originals at the border.
