I had my interview back in December 21, 2018.
My appointment was 8:30 am and got there around 7 in the morning just in case. There were two lines in front of the gate, for nonimmigrant visa interview and immigrant visa interview. It’s little bit confusing K1 is no immigrant visa for USCIS but it’s treated as an immigrant visa by consulate.
My fiancé (now my husband) and I entered around 8 but the officers told us the appointment time is not that important and to wait till they call my name.
I guess we waited for couple of hours to submit all documents we prepared and waited another couple of hours to get actually interview.
In March, 2018, I was rejected to enter the US cause we tried to get married on ESTA as we got advice from immigrant office on the military base. But CBP at SanFrancisco airport sent me back Korea to get a proper visa.
So that was my biggest concern before I went to interview.
So when my name was called, I went up to the interview window and korean consul started ask questions in Korean.

2. Where is my fiancé stationing
3. What happened exactly in SanFrancisco airport.
I answered honestly all the questions and the consul asked same questions to my finacé separately while I was sitting back in waiting area.
And we both were standing at the window and the consul told us they need to ask SanFrancisco airport to check our story and the decision will make in two weeks because of the holidays.
We asked him if there is any chance to reject our K1 Visa because of the rejection record but he said it won’t be affected by anything unless I was banned to enter the US. As he sees our documents, he couldn’t find any reasons to deny our visa petition.
After he took my documents and passport, we got out of the consulate around 2 pm.
Since the consul told me it’ll take 2 weeks so I didn’t even try to check the status in NVC website. But I got a text message they sent my passport on December 26th and got my passport with visa on it and the packages on the same day.
Sitting and waiting with all worries was the worst part of it but the consul was very nice and gentle guy. And all process was unexpectedly fast.
