Rating: | Review Topic: General Review
By the grace of Allah Almighty and 14 Masoomeen, I got approved on the 21st of May 2018. My visa got issued on the 22nd of May 2018, the next day after my interview. So I arrived at the diplomatic enclave at around 5:50a.m as my interview was at 7 am. At the entrance I was asked for my interview letter and my original passport. They returned my stuff after checking and let me and my mom pass. So we walked to the shuttle service office. There was a long queue, people anxiously waiting for the office to open. It opened at around 6 am. You aren't allowed to bring your bag inside, so you gotta submit it outside. Make sure you have 1000 and 100 rupees before you go inside the shuttle service office. There is gonna be a long queue and you gotta wait until it's your turn. You'll need 100 rupees, your interview letter and your original passport. They will check it, enter your details and give you your token. Then you'll be asked to go to the shuttle service payment area where they will check your passport. Then you'll be given the receipt and will be sent to the shuttle service waiting area.
So I waited in the waiting area for a few minutes and then we were asked to come outside where the shuttles were waiting for us. We had to sit in the shuttle for like 20 minutes waiting for the bus to fill all the seats. It took us to the US embassy in around 20 minutes. Then there was another long queue where I had to show my interview letter and my original passport but he didn't check anything and gave me the IV registration page and I was asked to go inside.
I was asked to show my interview letter and then they let me enter. There was an officer who asked me to sit in the second row on the second chair. So 20 minutes later I was asked to a cabin, where I was given a token. Had to wait another 20 minutes and then I went to the same cabin again with my visa photos and then they took my finger and thumb prints. Then after waiting for 20 minutes I was called to another cabin where I submitted my medical results, original birth certificate, and original marriage certificate. There I was asked select a language for the interview and I chose English.
I waited for around half an hour and I was called to the interview cabin. It was a black lady and she said 'Hi, Good morning, how are you?' Then she asked me to put my right hand fingers on the biometric scanner. Questions she asked me:
Who is calling you?
How you met your husband?
Did you meet him in person?
How long did you live together?
When did he come to see you?
How many people were on the wedding?
Who attended the wedding?
Are his parents also USC?
Did I travel somewhere with my husband?
Have I ever travelled out of Pakistan?
When did I get divorced?
How long I stayed married to my ex husband?
Date of my past marriage and date of the divorce?
Date of my husband's past marriage?
Date of his divorce?
Why did he get divorced?
How long they stayed married?
Does he have any kids with his ex?
Do we have any kids?
Do I have any kids with my ex?
Was his ex wife a US national?
Where does my husband work?
What does he work as?
When did the last time I see him?
Then she asked me for my pictures and I asked her which ones? The wedding ones? She said that she needed the other ones. So I gave her 7 small albums of other photos. She looked at the photos and said "You really came well prepared". "Ok, you got everything I can ask for, you're approved and you will get your passport back in a week". I couldn't hear that, so I asked again "Sorry?". She said "You are approved". I was like "Really???, am I approved??? Can't believe I am approved. Thank you so much!!!"
She returned my original documents and left the cabin with a big smile on my face and telling everyone who I talked with before the interview that I got approved.
Then I went back via shuttle and left with my mom
She didn't even ask for my original or copy of divorce certificate or my husband's divorce certificate or his passport copies. I had everything from my husband's visa stamps when he visited me and our chat and call logs and western union bills for each month for a year. She didn't ask for anything at all! Just the photos!
So that's all folks! Please have faith and don't sweat it. It's simple. CO's are friendly people! They don't have any personal issues with us. As long as you don't lie about anything and your sponsor is strong, you'll be fine!
