Hi everyone,
Just like others have said, our experience at the Frankfurt Consulate was really great. Our appointment was at 08:50, so we decided to arrive early at 07:30. (Just in case  ). We went to the counter outside of the consulate and received a ticket number. We showed the security guard the number and were immediately let in. Next, we had to pass through the security check area (similar to TSA Checkpoints at the airport.) We decided to leave our electronics (our phones) at home as people said that they would not be allowed in. ((U5 takes you pretty close to the consulate from the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, so phones aren't necessary anyway.) What we weren't sure about was what the security would do if we DID bring a phone...we found out that the security simply held the phone of the older woman ahead of us until she came back later...which is good to know.)
We entered the main building (following the green line). We then talked to a woman who politely told us which counter in the main building to go to. After a few minutes of waiting, an employee at the counter simply checked to make sure that we had our original documents, thanked us, and told us to have a seat and wait until the number we received, in the beginning, was called. (Big tip: having all of the paperwork organized ahead of time really streamlined the process.)
After waiting for about 10-15 minutes, we were called to another counter just to verify our I-130 info. After making one correction, we were told to have a seat and that the actual interview portion would be next. After another 15-20 minutes, we were called up to another window. My wife (the beneficiary) was asked a few simple questions like, "When are you moving to America?" and "Where will you live in the US?" The interview was less than 5 minutes and soon afterward, he told us that our visa was approved!
Overall, it was a good experience.
