Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiance had his interview today and it went as it has been explained here. THANK YOU VJ for providing such great information. He arrived at 6am for his 7am appt and said there were what seemed to be thousands of people there. His interview was at 7am but he was not seen until close to noon. The interview took about 5 to 10 minutes total and since we had all of our paperwork in order, I front loaded the K1 application from this side, he was approved with no problem. He spoke confidently about us and provided the answers because we've been dating for almost 2yrs now and know each other inside and out. The one thing I will mention is that when you are going for a K1 and show up with no date certain for your marriage, that may be something they see as a red flag. We have a date certain, I sent our wedding contract with the planner, our venue contract but my fiance overheard a conversation where the person had no date certain but explained that the couple had not discussed it. For some reason that does not even sound right to ME. If you have applied for a K1 Visa and know that you are expected to marry within 90 days of your arrival, it would seem to me that you would discuss plans for when you get to the U.S. Even tentative plans. The VO even asked for a tentative date. I guess it took the applicant by surprise that such question would be asked but it would seem a reasonable question for me. Now I'm not saying that person was denied for that reason alone but confidence in your answers and what appears reasonable to the person hearing it, seems to go a long way. Now I'm so excited to seem my fiance here for our May wedding!
