My wife's appointment was scheduled for 6:30 am and she arrived at the embassy around 6:20. After waiting around 4 hours, her number was finally called. She was interviewed by a black American man. Some of the questions he asked her were:
- What is your husband's name? (She answered)
- How old is he? (She answered)
- When is his birthday? (She answered)
- Where does he work and what does he do? (She answered with no problem)
- What is his address? (She answered...that was the question I was worried about the most because my street name is so long 😅)
- How did you guys meet? (She said that she and her aunt and uncle came to my family's house for a condolence visit and that's where she met me)
- When did you two get married? (She answered)
- What was holding you back from joining him in the US right after marriage? (She answered that she was still in school and just now graduated)
- Have you met his family? (She said yes. Saying that she's met all of my immediate and extended family and has been to our house many times)
- How do you guys communicate (regular phone calls, WhatsApp, video calls, and chats)
Throughout the whole time the interviewer was smiling and laughing, seeming interested in our story.
After all of those questions the interviewer said with a smile "okay, we're good now. I will approve you of this visa. 😃😃😃
The interview went really smoothly and only went on for about 10 minutes. The interviewer didn't even ask for any of her documents, any evidence, anything. It was more like a casual conversation according to what she told me.
All you need to do for the interview is stay calm and collected. Remain confident. The officers' main job is to see how genuine you are. Also, even though my wife was not asked for any documents, you should still bring ALL of your documents. She told me that she had seen a few others be denied of a visa simply because they did not bring all of their documents. Each interview works differently so you may never know what there is to expect. Just be confident and prepared and everything will go by in a breeze 🙂🙂
