Our k1 petition was denied

My fiance says he wasn't asked any questions. The CO only asked about his son. His son would not join us immediately, but at a later date. I love his son so much and never thought he would cause an issue. CO asked why the son didn't live with the my fiance and lived with his grandmother instead. CO's questions were all centered on his son, who is well taken care of by his maternal grandmother. It is normal for a child be with the mother/grandmother. But the petition requests that we name any children of the beneficiary. This was the reason he gave for the denial. I expect that I will receive a denial letter in the mail.

The appointment was at 7:30 am. We have a SUPER bona fide relationship. We submitted Whatsapp chats, wedding invitation suite, pictures of my mom and closest friends wedding shopping, my dress, toasting flutes, vanue, pictures of me and him with my dying father on his bed, Facebook chats, months of call records, money gram transactions, an email between us, etc. The CO asked us nothing and didn't examine any evidence in our presence. I make $48000 a year as a math professor and have been teaching for 4 years now. Provided 4 years of w2s, 3 years of IRS transcripts, 3 pay stubs, letter of employment. Added a $25k + retirement account, and was still denied.

I went from excitement to utter pain within hours. My fiance called crying so miserably. It didn't hit me at first and I tried to stay encouraged, but I began to feel deep pain. I'm supposed to get married June 20tj. Now I will have to wait possibly years before we can even live together. Thousands of dollars gone. A cancelled wedding.

I want to appeal it. I have no idea why it was denied. It was denied under INA Section 221(g). The CO gave us back ALL of our supporting documents (pictures, invites) the originals and the ones he took to the interview. He kept the packet.

It was a black American man. Not that this matters, but I see people include it. Fiance wore African attire and was complimented on how neatly our documents were organized (I am EXTREMELY detailed).

I appreciate the feedback from Visa Journey. I have no issue with the U.S. embassy in Ghana. But if we can be denied, please know that it may be difficult to get approved because we had so much evidence. Pray, be confident, and the best to you all!

May God bless you
