I had my interview on the 11th of February. My fiance was with me, just couple of days prior to the interview I sent an email to the embassy informing them he will be accompanying me so that he would be given access to embassy grounds. We arrived there at 9:45 and interview was scheduled for 10.
First I was called to room 10 and my fiance went in with me. A Serbian officer asked me to give him all original documents that I have. After he took them he went out and came back couple of minutes later, returning me all my documents. He then asked how did we meet and how many times has my fiance visited me. He also asked how and when did he obtain his naturalization(he is UK born). After that he told us to wait to be called to a next counter where we will pay visa fee- 265$ and they accept cards. After that, we were called in again to room 10 where I was told all my documents are all right, but that I need original birth certificate from my birth country. I had one from Serbia and I thought that is enough. After that we were called again by US CO. She was very nice, chatted a bit with both of us and then said our visa will be approved as soon as I bring my original birth certificate. I was told to send it by DHL. And I was given 221g slip where is said the same.
The next day we traveled and brought my document but DHl didn't want to take it because they wanted a verification letter with a barcode from the embassy which I wasn't given. Then we just sent it by post together with my passport. It was delivered to the embassy 3 days later and then I got a phone call from Serbian officer to come and collect my passport and visa packet.
