We had our i-485 interview at the Boston office. We chose to take an Uber, since that area is impossible for parking. I recommend an Uber or public transportation, if possible.
When we arrived we were waiting in the large waiting area where they shout out applicants' names based on who is going in for an interview. This was a little bit chaotic. For us, my husband (USC) was interviewed alone at first and then they invited me in, I gave an oath and they asked me the same questions to see if our answers matched. They also went over some items on the i-485 form. At the end they asked if I want to submit any additional evidence, but it's not required. I gave copies of our joint health insurance, joint bank account, joint phone plan. They told us at the interview that we are approved and should receive the card in the mail in 2-3 weeks.
My friend has a wedding in Europe in two weeks and I asked if there is any temporary document they can give me if the physical card doesn't arrive in time for the trip. The officer introduced me to his colleague who offered to help me get the stamp in my passport for the trip.
The officer seemed very intimidating at first, but once he told us we are approved he was very friendly and helpful.
