Our interview was at 9:29am. We got there around 9:10am, but didn't get called til around 10:30am .. which seemed like forever. (So, bring a book to read or something .. I did!)
Btw, no food and cellphones are allowed in the waiting room.
When the lady called us in, she was nice and pleasant. She reviewed our paperwork most of the time and asked for our id's, birth certificates, and my passport. We had a little small talk like "Oh, you guys moved to Chicago from California?" .. "What do you guys do?" and the like. Not seemingly real interview questions like some websites say.
The lady saw that we applied for Advanced Parole, and I mentioned cuz we want to travel in May ... and she said she thinks they could everything fixed by then .. no problem. (note: My AP was already approved and she was referring my green card." So, I took that as a positive indication.
After something like 15 minutes, she gave us all our stuff back and said "If everything works out at the end of the day, you will hear from us within 30 days."
That was it. The end. ... which was pretty anticlimactic. But this verified what other forum members said that some person has to approve the case at the end of the day.
That night, I checked if my case had been "touched" c/o the "last update" column on the USCIS page after logging in ... and it was not.
So, I checked the next morning .. and instead of seeing that my case was "touched" .. I saw that my card had been ordered!!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!
So, be patient! Good things do happen to those who wait! YAHOO!
