Hello Everybody

My Name is Marina, and it's my first review, so please excuse if I don't find the right words.

Derek and I know each other now for 2 years and like everybody here we can't wait to be back together.Even when we was Lucky to live 6 month together!
Anyway as the Consulate in Frankfurt "invited" me for the 02.22.2008, I was a little scared as I had bad experience in the past with the old Consulate in Frankfurt, former next to the Palmengarten in 1997.

So I was glad to start with the Medical, and this was very easy as everybody was so friendly!
I came to the Doctor and they gave me first a Number(#5), then I needed to fill out a form, again very easy!
You will need:
Your Passport
A Passport Photo
Your Vaccination card
125€ cash Doctors fee
This I had to give with the form I had to fill out before.
Then they send me downstairs, to get:
Blood test
Urin test
And the X-ray is chest free, so better wear clothes you get easy on and out!
After that I had to go Upstaris again there the Doctor checked my eyes, made a normal exam.
After finished for this I asked If I could have the Supplement Document for Vaccination as i need this one for the AOS!
15 minutes later I had this and my x-ray, and was ready to go...

Then I drove to the Embassy...coming on there was a lot of people and it rained but ok the have like a little glass roof over the waiting area.
There was two lines, the left one is the one to start as you get there your number (mine was W517)...then after I had that one I stepped to the other line.
This line is actually to get in the Consulate but you will have a Security check first( better to leave all big bags, electronics at home also bottles...etc.)
After I would say 20 Minutes I was in and I've to say very very friendly...
The Officer checked if I had forbidden stuff with me then he explained me there to go and how it will be.
I had to go to a other Building, and wait until my number was called.
I was a big room with 299 seats, a little snack bar and a the officers who work behind windows.
After 2 minutes my number was called the 1st Time.
So I went to Window #23.
The officer behind wanted to see my Visa receipt(proof of the visa payment 93€)
Then she took my Passport and Passport Photo.
After this she gave me a form who tells, in which order to put the Documents (Birth certificate etc.), also she handed me a big brown envelope and ask me to write my Address on it as well as to glue the Postal Stamps for 4.25€ you have to bring with you.
Then I sat down again, put the things in order as I was told.
Few minutes later they called again my number and i had to go to window #16.
The officer checked the Documents with me, took the envelope and explained me the Documents for the POE(port of entry). He was very nice told me that all papers was in perfect order and looks like I could get my Visa in 10 to 15 Daysif the Medical was ok; Then he told me to pay caution on the following:

(You'll need your Passport, the envelope that the Consulate will send to you
!!!IN NO CASE OPEN THE ENVELOPE AS YOUR VISA WILL EXPIRE IN THAT CASE!!!
and your x-ray.All this should be in your hand luggage with you in the Airplane)

Then I had to I sit down again, to wait to talk to the next officer.
This officer was first very nice, took my Fingerprints, was a bit difficult as you need to push really down the thing. Next thing was he let me swear my oath and sign it.
Then he had some questions this he made very fast, like the bad cop in TV.
Where does he work?
When do you leave for the USA?
When is his Birthday?
How much Bother and Sisters does he have?
When did you meet him the first time?
Where did you meet him the first time?
Where do you plan to stay?
Did you ever Visit the USA before?
Did you ever overstay your visa?
Did you ever commit a crime or hold by Police?
All this like I said before he said very fast, he never let me finish me phrase.
A bit rude but ok it's his job.
Then after he finished he was nice again and told me:
"Very good, if your Medical is ok, you will have your Visa in the Next 10 to 15 Days."
I left the Consulate with a very big smile!

Today, the 02.27.2008 I received my Visa and that just five Days after , and this with a weekend between!!!

I have some tips to everybody who need to go there:

No Bags, cellphones etc.(keep it in the car, Hotel or the Locker at Frankfurt Train station it's 2€)
Have you Vaccination card checked some Vaccinations need a re injection, what means 4 weeks between two shoots!
Make copy's from all Documents, just in case!
Have everything complete and ordered the way they want to have it!
Just try to follow to the instructions the best you can!

Then good luck!
Best Wishes,
Derek & Marina
