I'm going to give you a little trick to make your visa process faster and it's applied as of October-December 2018. After you get your NOA2, wait for two weeks before calling NVC. Normally, your case number will be assigned in two weeks. After you got your case number, it's time for Rock n Roll. Send an email to US Embassy in Jakarta to get interview appointment. You don't need them to send you the P3. You can go straight to P4 and get the interview date after you fill the DS-160 and pay for the visa. Usually you'll get the interview in 2-4 weeks. Ask for 4 weeks from the date of your email because it will give you sufficient time to have your case transferred to the embassy. This time line will give you sufficient time to complete the documents required for the interview. It will be better if your fiance is coming and give it to you, so you wouldn't be worried about some important documents are lost in shipping or get delayed. His/her presence also a good reason for attending the interview with you and helping you with moving your stuff and being there for you for POE.
Two weeks before your interview date, go to Bintaro Premier Hospital to get your medical exam. It takes one week for them to send the result to the embassy. If you want your fiance to come with you for the interview, email them and let them know in advance and send the copy of his/her passport for identification. If you do this, your time line from NOA2 to interview will be 6 weeks. If you're approved, the embassy will send your passport, together with a sealed packaged in 4-6 days.
The interview itself is short and quick. We came in and out in one hour. Come 30 minutes earlier so that you can get the first line. Get in the embassy and wait til the window for document check is open. A local staff will check if you have all the documents required. You'll get a number and you will have to wait for another window to open to have an interview with the CO. They will call your number and you come to the right window.
The questions were asked to us were:
1. How did you meet? (question to beneficiary)
2. How did you propose? (question to petitioner)
3. Who were there when you proposed? (question to petitioner)
4. Why did you accept the proposal? (question to beneficiary)
5. Where are you going to get married? (both)
6. Do you have a plan for bigger wedding in the future? (we're going to get married in the city hall, hence the question for both of us)
Overall the interview was relaxed and I'm happy to have my fiance with me for the interview. I feel like we were doing this together and we got approved without problem.
