Rio de Janeiro, Brazil | Review on February 27, 2008: | cinamaje

It was a long wait since the time I got there until the interview. My interview was scheduled for 7:45 am and I left the consulate after around 11 am.
First thing when you get inside they you a number and a paper with a list of the documents and forms you should have in a certain order, so you can organize them to be delivered. When your number is called you go to a window where a brazilian will check your documents and see if it's all in order. If it's all good, you'll go back waiting for your number to be called again for the interview with the consul.
My interview was very nice. The consul was a woman, very friendly and i felt very comfortable. She asked me how I met my fiancé; how long do we know each other; if he had come to Brazil and how many times; if I had been to the US and how many times; what were the reason of my trips; what was my ocupation; if I could speak english; how did I learn english (at this point the rest of the interview was in english). She also went through the pics my fiancé had sent with the I- 129F and a few more questions and all I remember at this point is that she granted me the visa and told me I would receive my passport in 2 days by mail. (Go prepared to pay for it!) When I left the ladies I was chatting with during the waiting time told me my interview didn't last 5 min! I was in shock cause as I could see people go in and come out, and it was taking more than 5 min. So...my advice is, read the instructions, get your docs carefully prepared, don't forget anything, tell the truth ALWAYS and relax! Ah...take some snacks with you also!
