Our visa interview was this morning and we are extremely grateful that we were approved! We arrived an hour early around 6:30am for our 7:30am appointment. There were already several people waiting across the street from the embassy. Around 7, they had people line up on 2 sides of the entrance for marriage and family visas, and the other for tourist and other visas. We were fortunate to be first in line. By the time we entered, there were many people in line.
They reviewed our interview invitation email from NVC and asked for our Aramex letter. We then entered and went through security. I attended with my husband but was not allowed to go to the windows with him. I waited in the waiting area. He was called to the first window around 8 or so, and gave all of his papers to the woman. He was able to do the entire process in Arabic. They did not ask for family registration, but we had it on hand in case because of other Visa Journey members saying they sometimes ask for this. We waited another 45 minutes and he was called to another window alone where he spoke with the woman in Arabic. She asked how we met, several questions about how much time we have spent together, when we met each others' families, and our wedding. She then asked him to get me and I answered a few of the same questions in English (probably 6-7 questions total).
She then told us we were good to go and told us he would get his visa within 2 weeks!! We left the embassy around 9am, so about two hours total from the time we entered! I think it helped that we had very few red flags - close in age, no previous marriages, no children, etc. Based on our experience, we suggest you bring EVERY paper you think you might need plus a copy, show up early, try to be first in line, and relax! After over a year for the whole process, it was surreal to have everything change in one day!
Everyone at the embassy was kind and helpful. I hope this helps! Good luck on your journey!
