Overall, I feel that the K1 interview process at the US embassy was smooth and quite simple.
I had my appointment scheduled for 10 AM and arrived about an hour before. The trickiest part of this whole experience was figuring out where to line up outside the embassy, since there were a lot of people standing in the non-immigration line and no one was standing in the immigration line. But after a few seconds of hesitation I saw where I was supposed to stand (just next to the more luxurious non-immigration line which is covered by glass). I was called immediately to go through the security check. After that I followed the yellow marking to another building where the interview was to be held. I went up to window 7 to hand over my documents to a kind Swedish-speaking woman. This is what material she requested:
Passport
DS-160 confirmation page
2 passport style photos
Birth certificate (personbevis)
Police records
Evidence of ongoing relationship
And because we have a co-sponsor, the co-sponsor's financial information.
After that, I waited for about 15-20 minutes before being called up to another window for the actual interview. The nice American woman who interviewed me started with taking my fingerprints, before she proceeded to ask a few very simple questions. Not much more than:
How and when we met, and what we did on our first date
When we plan on getting married
Who the Co-sponsor is and what she does for a living
That was pretty much it! I was approved and since they already had my medical report, everything was in order and now all I have to do is wait a few days for my visa-endowed passport to arrive in the mail.
To summarize, the interview was more or less a breeze and a pretty comfortable "home stretch" before you cross the finishing line with an approved visa application!
