It was super fun and I hope I get the same interviewing officer in 2 years when I return to lift conditions and apply for a 10-year green card!
Our interview took about 20 minutes, the interviewer confirmed my answers on some of the questions on the AoS application, asked about our relationship and how we met. We gave some insurance documents(auto,life), OPPD account summary, some wedding photos and other photos. That's really all that we submitted during the interview. The officer did not give us an approval or rejection and told us to wait for a status change online. Our status changed that evening from "interview is ready to be scheduled" to "new card is being processed".
Something to note, the interview notice required my husband's adopted step-daughter's documents(birth certificate). We also brought her custody papers just in case because her custody recently changed compared to what was decreed in the divorce proceedings. Neither were asked for during the interview at all.
Nothing about affidavit of support or medical was asked from us during the interview, it was not even mentioned throughout. Affidavit of support was submitted with application with only 2017 W2 and 2017 income tax return; no paystubs were surrendered nor letter from employer. I did not submit an I-693, during application, I submitted a written and signed letter explaining why I am not submitting an I-693 which included the date of my overseas medical, the DS-3025 and photocopies of my vaccination certificates.
Lastly, I submitted the following certified copies with the application: 1. Marriage certificate, 2. My husband's(US citizen) birth certificate, 3. My husband's divorce decree from his previous marriage and 4. My change of name deed poll because the name I use now is totally different from the one on my birth certificate.
None of the certified copies has been returned to us, I will update and delete this portion of my review if they return them via mail soon.
