My fiancée interview was scheduled on Feb 14 2008 and My fiancée and I went to the Consulate on Feb 11 2008 for letting them know that I am in town. On Feb 11 2008 we did our medicals. The medicals took us more than R1500 because she had to take the vaccinations. The vaccinations are costly. You need to have been tested for chicken pu...(I can't not spell it)to avoid the vaccination. On Feb 13 we went to the Dr. M. Singer's office to collect our results and everything was great. On Feb 14 2008, we got at the consulate at 7:30 AM. We found a line has already been formed. There were about 11 individuals in front of us. We got in the consulate about 8:00 AM, and we waited for hour. Our case worker waived us in the other side of the window. They don't call names, you need to keep looking at the window to see if your case worker is in there. There were about 3 individuals came for immigrant visa. We all were at the windows 7 and 8. These windows are for immigrant visa only. At 10 minutes past nine, the case worker started to screen our paperwork. He collected all the documents. He kept the police certificate original only. He told us to go and seat. We sat and sat for about 15 minutes, and the case worker waived us again, and he instructed my fiancée for the fingerprints. After the fingerprints, he told us to go and come back at 2 PM. At the 1:45 PM, we arrived at the consulate. This time there were nobody at the line and we saw other immigrant visa seekers inside the consulate already there. We nervously sat and sat for about 2 hours and 30 minutes, the CO started called us via telecom speaker. we were third to get there. The CO called my fiancée's name and we stood at the window, and he asked who are you? I said I am the petiner of the my fiancée, he asked for my passport, I gave it to him. He told me to go and sat about 15 yards from the window, I thanked him and did exactly what he asked. In about 5 minutes my fiancée came to me with smiley face. For the moment I got relieved and she told me that the CO told her that everything was fine she needs to come back the next day at 3 PM to collect the pasport with visa. The questions that were asked were something like How did you meet your fiancé? and What are the schools that he attended? What does he do in the USA? and other informal questions that are not related to the visa process. On Friday Feb 15 2008 at 2:30 we arrived at the consulate immediately got in and ring the bell on windows 7, the other case worker came at the window. At the moment she saw us, she told us you are here for your visa I said yes mom. She gave us a folder that contains a brown envelope and passport with K-1 visa on. We thanked her and walked out and thank all the security guards and make jokes with them.
