I had an interview today 24 July at 7.30. Reached consulate at 7am. The guy in purple shirt called to form a queue at 7am. Do not carry any bags at all as they don’t allow it in and there are lockers available from autorickshaw driver at 500. So better to leave all ur bags,mobile, pendrive, stapler and CD at home or hotel. There will be two lines one for non immigrant and one for immigrant visa. Get into immigrant visa line. Then they let me in where I went through security check like ones in airport and then to another room where purple shift boys and girls are there to assist you in organising the documents
Sequence to arrange documents
1. Appointment letter
2. Fingerprint ds260 form
3. Police clearance certificate (original and photocopy)
4. Birth certificate (original and photocopy)
5. Marriage certificate (original and photocopy)
They i was sent to a counter where there was an Indian officer who screened my file and kept documents which they require and returned all extra documents sent to nvc. Questions asked by Indian officer
1.who calling you
2. Have you travelled to USA before
3. Have you travelled to any other country
4. Have you previously been married
Then he gave me another token and asked to wait and meanwhile gave me a paper to read about domestic violence.
After waiting for half hour my token was called and went to window where an American lady officer was waiting
She asked me to raise my right hand and take oath that I will tell all truth
Questions asked
1. Who’s calling you
2. When did you last see her ( my wife visited India for 3-4 times in a span of 1 year )
3. She asked how can she afford tickets and expenses to come and visit so often( said we both pay for tickets and expenses. Said to her that we book in advance so tickets don’t cost that much)
4. She asked where you went for honeymoon ( said we went to Kerala and showed her photo book). She was impressed from the pics and said your honeymoon looked very interesting and we both laughed on it
Then came the final answer “ YOUR VISA IS APPROVEDâ€
Went in at 7.30 came out at 8.45am.
Very smooth interview.
