Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We arrived 30min prior to our appointment.
We went through the security check. The guys at the security were very friendly.

We gave our interview letter and waited 10 minutes in a room before going to another room.

Once in the second room, we waited 5 minutes before being called by the officer in charge of our case. She introduces herself and she was very friendly and smiling. We followed her in her office.
She started by the oath and then asked our passports and IDs. She read through the form I-485 and ask me (the petitioner) my name, my wife’s name, my birthday, my wife’s birthday, our address, what was my work in Switzerland, where we get married, when we met each other, where we met each other, and if my signature on the form was my signature. She asked my wife if she was born abroad. After that she started to ask me the “Yes/No” questions and pick probably 20 questions from the form. She asked me if I came on a K-1 visa and to show her the Visa.
She asked my wife if we have shared utility bill or bank account. We give her our joint bank account and explained that we have not a lot of other things because we are living with my mother-in-law. We gave her the Affidavit from my mother-in-law and the officer told us that it was very good to have it. She asked us why we are living with her.
Right after that, she told us that we were approved and she start looking at the picture we sent for the visa. She asked us if we have picture from the wedding so we give the same on as we sent with the I-485 and two others. She asked me if my family went to the wedding. And she asked about people on our “visa” pictures. Because she already told us that we were accepted, the dialogue was very friendly and she looked interested by our story and wedding.
She stated again that we were accepted and that we will receive a confirmation online during the day. She escorted us to the exit and asked me what kind of work I want to do in the US.
The full interview lasted less than 15 minutes.
