My fiance and I arrived at the consulate around 6:50 AM for our 7:15 appointment, there was already a large amount people waiting on the side walk. Around 7:15, one of the employees in the purple shirt called for applicants to form a line. They will check the passport and appointment letter before letting you inside.
Once inside, you will go through security/scanner. Make sure to not bring any electronics such as phones, or medical cd. Lots of people brought the medical cd and were told to give the cd to someone outside, which would make them lose their place in line. After going through security, the workers asked the applicants which language they preferred - English, Malayalam, Hindi.. applicants were grouped based on language preference. The workers will put everything in order, passport, birth certficate + copy, DS 160, PCC, medical packet, appointment letter, passport photos. Once seated the workers will give a token slip. Once your token is called, you will go up to speak with an indian employee. There they will ask for the documents that were placed in order, they also asked me for the affadavit of support and 2017 tax return. They will also ask if a translator is needed when you speak with the American CO, which we did not need. Once finished we sat down with the same token paper to wait for the interview with the CO.
Once our token number was called, my fiance and I both went up to the window for the interview with the CO. The CO asked some questions to my fiance directly, but there was a few questions that he just asked us both, in which I was able to answer. These were the questions that were asked:
1. What is your fiance's date of birth?
2. Why do you want to get married in the U.S. and not in India? He said due to my grandma not being able to come to India
3. The CO asked me why can't my grandma come to India? I said my grandma is unable to travel long distances.
4. What are the plans for the wedding?
5. Asked about my fiance about my work history.
The CO also asked if we had any photos of us together in which we showed. There was a picture of us on a beach, he asked where the picture was taken, we said that it was in Thailand. He then asked if we had traveled anywhere else together.
The CO then proceeded to hand us the white slip that we were approved. He said it would take 5 days for the passport to be ready.
Overall our interview was very relaxed, the CO was asking questions based off the original 129F that was sent in. We were finished with our interview and left the consulate by 9 am.
