Ok so we left Brampton around 11 am on Thursday and arrived in Montreal around 6 pm..made a couple of stops along the way.. after seeing all signs turn to French when we crossed in Quebec we were so glad we had our GPS!..we drove right to the Hôtel La Tour Centre-Ville, hotel was fine..location is what sold us.. across the street from the Consulate...perfect..especially in the winter...no snow, but man it was cold!.. After getting checked in and getting our cats settled we were too tired to do any sightseeing..had some dinner, watched Ugly Betty..LOL..made some phone calls, went over all the paperwork AGAIN and went to bed...

Got a wake up call for 530 am but we were both up by 5am anyway...Barry headed out to locate the Consulate and to find a Tim Hortons (had to have a coffee!!), luckily he found both.. We walked over to the Consulate at 7am (we were 2nd in line) and waited for them to open up at 730...It was a very cold morning and I think they maybe had some sympathy for us and opened a few minutes before 730, or maybe they saw that my hair was FROZEN AND HAD ICE IN IT!...yes I took a shower right before we left, no my hair wasnt dry, and no I didnt have a hat or hoody on.. and yes my hair froze!!!...LOL..one more thing to add to my "memories of Canada" list..

Ok so we got in and went through security, and were give the waiting card B-9..sat in the waiting room until 745 then they took us in the elevator..got off went to the window to hand in the number and Interview letter.. went to the waiting room.. about 8:05am we were called to hand over all of our documents.. RCMP Certificate, Divorce Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Long Form Birth Certificate (plus 1 copy of each), Sealed medical envelope, My I-134 and all other financial support documents and our joint sponsor's I-134 and documents, Barry's passport, and his 2 pics..she gave us a form to take to the cashier to pay our $131 US and told us to wait to be called back to give the receipt.. we went to the cashier to pay and had a seat.. at 845am we were called to hand over the receipt and for Barry to do his fingerprints.. we were told to have a seat again and to wait to be called to a "door" for an interview.. at 9:22 am we were called to "door 7"... I have a feeling it was "movie phone guy"...LOL.. nice looking, young, tall guy?.

anyway...we stood there in front of his window and he asked us to raise our right hands...and swear to tell the truth...etc

Movie Guy (MG): So how did you two meet?
Barry: Online in 2000
MG: what websight was it?
B: it was an AOL chatroom, we just started chatting and it progressed from there
MG: I see you were married in 2002, thats not too long after
ME: it feels like a long time when its long distance
{everyone laughs}
MG: Where will you be staying?
B: In Las Vegas, with my mother in law
MG: what line of work will you look for
B: I will continue in my trade (pressman)
ME: I work in retail and plan to continue with that
MG: Do you have any savings?
B: yes
MG: Ok, well everything is in order here for an approval..you should receive it in the mail within a week..

Just asked me to sign my I-134 in front of him because I didnt have to get mine notorized beforehand..

questions were asked and answered very quickly..total length of time of interview about 3 minutes...LOL we were standing at the elevator to go down at 925am!...

left Montreal around 1030am and got back to Brampton at 6pm...Barry didnt get his Poutine or Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwhich but hes ok with it..were just happy to be back home..and ready to plan for our move...

I thank all of you so much for your well wishes, support, opinions, information, and experiences.. It is so appreciated..now I guess I better start looking at those AOS forms!!

I think I need a nap!!!
