We arrived at 7:30AM on January 17,2008 and there was already a line of people waiting at the Embassy. (Our Appointment was at 8:15AM) There was a man with a clipboard going around asking what was your purpose at the embassy.
We explained we had our K3 interview at 8:15AM and was given a ticket with a number 8 on it. We only waited a couple minutes and was called to window 10. Basically, the people at the embassy only spoke to my husband. At window 10 he was asked for his identification and passports. Then was told to have a seat. Then we were called to window 14 and was asked for the Affidavit of support, my taxes, (only requested tax return for 2006.) DS-157 and DS-230. The person at the window only wanted to speak to my husband and told me to have a seat. Which was fine by me but, I don't understand why the American spouse is highly recommend for the Interview.
Anyway, when my husband was finished at window 14 we sat down and waited to be called back into another room for the "Interview." The person was an American man who conducted the interview and I was asked one question. Which was how did you met your husband? That was it!! I had so much paperwork with me to show them and our marriage pictures and receipts of money transfers and phone bills and all my travel iternary. (But, they were not interested to see them.)
My husband fingerprints were taken and they kept his passport. The total time for the American Embassy in Lima Peru was 1 hour. I thought everything went very smooth and the Visa arrived at the house in 2 business days. We are happy and its priceless to have your husband by your side everyday. Thank you our God for all our blessings!!!
