Last July of 2017, my husband and I went on our interview with our lawyer in attendance.
Overall, I felt the experience went ok. The questions were direct and I answer most of them because my husband wasn't fluent in English.
Although we did ask for an interpreter, our interviewer only dialed in someone to interpret when she wanted to ask him questions directly.
I probably should have logged in my experience last year while it was fresh in my head.
Overall, I recalled her reviewing my picture album (which they kept) and pressed on the topic of having children. That was a bit emotional for me since we are actually trying and we're having trouble.
So here's the kicker! Towards the end, it seem like she had all the information she needed. Suddenly she began reviewing my husband's biometrics report and told me something was terribly wrong because nothing was completed! We tried explaining that we didn't need a full vaccination because he arrived on a K1 and had already received his shots before entering the states. We decided to run back to the clinic where we took the biometrics (across from UCIS offices) and they also confirmed they didn't need to do a complete vaccination because of the reports he submitted when entering the states!!!
Well, we ran back to the offices where we interviewed and by some miracle bumped into our person and tried explaining the situation. Since this was off the record, she simply said she would review with her supervisor to make sure the original documents were within the year. Otherwise, we'd need to do these all over again. The confusing part is when do they consider the vaccinations expired??? If you take into account the date of the original documents with the date USCIS called him to submit his BIOMETRICS for his adjustment papers, then yes, it's within the year. However, if you're checking the original date against the interview date, then it's possible the dates are shy by a few weeks!!
It's is now May of 2018 and we have yet to hear a word about my husband's status and it's worrying me to death.....in the meantime, we wait.
I give our experience a 4 because everything went smoothly until our interviewer confused herself by thinking he was already a resident and didn't consider to thoroughly look through his paperwork to find the original biometrics.
