Wife had interview at ISB on May 7th.
Some back ground about case: Both my self and wife are divorced. after reading multiple posts about divorce I sent in a lot of information on the original I-130 (aka front loading) and NVC (side loading).
in the I-130(front loading) included visit picture before the nikkah, and the pictures from nikkah , pictures with both families (some pictures also showed location and time when they were taken) , all phone records, receipt of gift I sent to Pakistan, all boarding cards of entry and exit from Pakistan
by the time the case was at NVC, we had our marriage ceremony and a trip overseas together,
So with the civil documents that I sent to NVC I included : additional pictures from the ceremony, overseas trip (some pictures also showed location and time when they were taken), all new boarding cards (some with both of us travelling together).
on the day of the interview we took all documentation possible like whats app chat, emails, 300 pictures, financial documents like bank statements, money transfer receipt. etc. I also accompanied my wife to the Islamabad embassy (Please try and do this. it makes a lot of difference). we got to the embassy around 8 am, there was a long wait but after finger printing and document submission we were called to interview window around 11 a.m. We had asked for the interview to be conducted in english (never ask for a Urdu CO)
CO asked me if I was the petitioner, and then told me to take a seat.
CO Asked my wife:
Q: whos calling you
Q: whats ur husbands name.
Q: what does he do.
Q: where does he live ,
Q: When did you (wife) got divorced .
Q: is ur husband divorced.
Q: Whats is his daughter (from first marriage) name and age
at the end CO was looking at all the information he already had from NVC , he looked at the pictures submitted to NVC (at this time my wife took out all the 300 pictures we took) but the CO never asked to see any pictures.
in the End he said you are approved . Passport was delivered on the 5 business day after the interview.
TIPS:
- always front load and side load at NVC.
- be confident and answer to the point .
- Make sure that divorce documents are in order (some other people were questioned about them)
- Only ask to do the interview in English, the Urdu CO are rude and outright nasty. save urself the hassle and just do the interview in English , incase you cannot understand the american CO, you can always ask for an interpreter at that time, at-least the question will be asked by the american CO.
