My husband just got approved this morning and had a really good experience. I was unable to attend for several reasons, so I was super nervous and couldn’t wait to talk to him to find out how it went.
He arrived at 8:20 for his 9:30 appointment and got right in with no issues. He went to the first window and said they didn’t ask for very many documents. Just the police cert., long form BC, affidavit of support, medical packet, passport photos, pictures of us as a couple and I think that’s it. This is like half of what is on the check list from their website, but I’m not complaining. The lady also commented about how prepared and organized he was. Apparently a lot of people were disorganized and did not have many of the required documents, so my advice would be to print out the checklist and don’t get on a plane until you have everything you need. The only things you should have to do in Honduras are: medical exam, birth certificate and police certificate, and the correct ones are clearly stated on their website.
He didn’t have to wait long to get called into the interview and it was really short. The lady just asked basic questions like if he’d ever entered the US more than once and if we had kids, etc. Nothing crazy and nothing he didn’t expect. He dressed well too and wore dress pants, button up shirt and a suit jacket(no tie). I’m not saying this made a HUGE difference, but it doesn’t hurt. The lady said he was approved, my husband thanked her and he went on his way. I received a call from the hotel by 9:20, and like I said, his appointment wasn’t until 9:30. We’re so happy with how everything went. I’m not going to tell everyone to relax because that’s impossible when so much is on the line, but if you are well prepared and haven’t hidden anything from them you will be fine! Good luck and hope this helps!
