Overall a very pleasant experience. First I went through security. My appointment was at 8 a.m. and I entered at 7:30 a.m. Electronic devices were not allowed. There were very few immigrant visa applicants so the wait was not too long. I received a number. When the number was called, I provided the necessary paperwork (photos, police record, family records, I-134, evidence of the relationship). The woman was Turkish. She was quite rude and it definitely made me nervous. Then I waited about two hours for my number to be called again. I went to a second window and spoke with a very nice (Turkish) woman who had me swear to tell the truth. Then she asked the following questions:
How and when did you meet?
What were you doing when you met?
What was she doing when you met?
When did you see her last?
How did you propose?
What are her mother and father's names?
Have you met her family?
What kind of wedding will you have?
Will you have a wedding here or there?
What is her job?
How did you find the money to travel? (After I mentioned we traveled together.)
How do your families understand each other? (After I told her my fiancee's mom was visiting.)
She was especially friendly and smiley after I mentioned that my fiancee was waiting for me outside the embassy.
At the end of the interview, she smiled and said, "Congratulations, your visa is approved." She said the visa would arrive in 3-5 days, and not to worry if it takes a little bit longer.
The entire process was conducted in Turkish. All of the workers at the embassy were very friendly and helpful (except for the woman at the first window.)
