I know the Lord had a hand in this whole process. Though it was long we never gave up.
My fiancé was approved on March 14th! The interview was at 7A and we arrived around 5:30A. There was already a crowd. We waited about 5+ hrs for him to complete.
I was at the interview as well and there we so many people being denied for various visas that day. He told them I was outside, the Consulate said that's good, and after the interview the Consulate told him to have travelled for the interview shows I really love him, which I do.
They asked the basic questions, then follow up questions.
Who filed for him?
How did we meet?
What is my job?
How old are my kids?
Tell him about the kids?
The position of my job and what do I do?
Where do I live?
That's it.
My fiancé says he answered the questions in complete sentences with additional information so they didn't have to ask. He said like he told the kids ages but also their DOB. So not too much but so that they would know he knows my two sons as well.
All I can say is know your fiancé or fiancée, know dates, know their family, send relevent pictures that show your time together and how it was spent, "front load," pray without ceasing, be prepared, and all should go well.
They only collected the required documents like the DS-160 confirmation, Payment Receipt, Medical envelope, Police Report, and Affidavit of Support. Though we had additional evidence and pics from my last trip they did not asked for anything else! So I feel front loading helped tremendously.
But also remember, faith without works is dead.
