As we entered the Embassy we went to a little machine that spits out a ticket with a number. When our number call called we went to the window. The lady behind the window was "all buisness and not very friendly. She did not even crack a smile. She then asked for all the forms, whick we had all ready and in order. We were then told to go have a seat and wait for the consular to call us up. After waiting about 40 min Jario was called up and I went up to the window with him. The consular was much more friendly and made a few jokes with us.
He scanned Jairo's fingerprints and had him take a oath that all questions asked were true and correct. He then had me go sit in the back of the room while he asked Jairo questions. I was then called up and Jario sat in the back of the room. He was asking us both simular quetions to see if our stories matched up. He was friendly but at the same time you could tell he was trying to see if we really was a "couple" It was a little nerve wracking but I knew as long as we aswered truthfully it would be fine.
Questions that were asked to Jairo
How did you meet?
When did you meet?
How may pets does she have? Does she have a cat?
Where does she live? Where did she grow up?
Did you go for the first date?
Did you ask her to marry you or did she ask you?
Have you talked about how many kids you want to have?
What does she do for a living? Where does she work?
Do you know what Ohio is like?
Questions he asked me
Where do you work?
How many pets do you have? What are they?
How did you meet? and when?
Where did you go for the first date?
When was the first time you know you were in love with him?
Does he love you?
How do you know he loves you?
Have you talked about how many kids you want to have?
How many?
Do you think he will miss his family?
Do you think he will like Ohio?
Some of these I thought were weired. He then told Jairo to come back up. He then said I am going to approve your visa and you can pick it up tomorrow after 3pm. He then told Jairo "you better be good to her and take care of her" and that was it. He did not ask for any pictures, letters, phone records or anything like that. When we were first called to the window the consular was flipping through the file and looking at the pictures that I had sent in with the K1 application. In all, the first lady could of been more friendly.
I just want to add, I was amazed at the number of peole who came to the Embassy expecting they could just walk in and get a visa to the USA or had missing paprework and such. I am very thankful I found this site, in which prepared me for everything from all the correct forms and documents to the interview itself!
