We began our process in Apr 2016, submitting I-130 and paying bio metrics fee. In August 2016, it got approved. September 2016, Had bio metrics taken. May 2017 Submitted I-601A, October 2017 Accepted. Interview was scheduled in January 30, notice was sent in November 2017.

01/25/18 - 02/03/18

We arrived Thursday (1/25/18). We stayed at City Express Junior. right across the street from the consulate and everything else. It's a nice place, very safe with security outside.

Friday (01/26/18) - Had medical appointment at 10A. We arrived at 9:30A, they quickly began to register and take my husband's information in their system. They toke a photo, finger print, and address (US and Mexico). We were then taken to the actual lab and hospital to get started with the physical. There were lots of people, we last about 3 hours there. He got blood drawn, urine sample, x-rays and vaccines. If you have your appointment early and finish before 3 PM you can pick up your results that same day.
What you need: Passport, Consular Interview Letter and Medical appointment confirmation.

Saturday (01/27/18) - Bio Metrics appointment at 9:45A. We arrived at 9:15A, there were lots of people as well but this runs faster. He lasted about 45 minutes or less in there.
What you need: Passport, DS-260 Confirmation and appointment confirmation.

Sunday (01/28/18) - everything is closed, so we waited.

Monday (01/29/18) - We picked up Medical results. What you need: your wrist band they put on you and your passport.

Tuesday (01/30/18) - Consulate Interview day! Appointment was at 7:45A. There is always LOTS of people, so be sure to get there early! 30 mins to 1 hr earlier. I printed everything for my husband and fixed it in binder for him. I had pictures of us, a copy of every application we sent, original and copies of civil documents, and all original approvals. At the processing windows, he got asked for the copies of his birth certificate, marriage license, and police clearance letter. He did not need a mexico one, since he was under 18 when he lived there. My husband lasted in there for about 3 or 4 hours. His actual interview lasted less than 10 mins. He said the officer spoke to him in Spanish. Did not ask to see anything but his original documents and asked him a few questions.

Who is petitioning you?
Where is she?
How, when and with who did you come to the US?
Asked how many brothers and sisters we both had.

He was approved and given a green paper with instructions on how to pick up his package.

Very important! Make sure you are choosing to pick up your documents at the CAS (where bio metrics are taken) so you will be able to pick them up much faster! They keep your passport and later give it back when you pick up your package. You cannot take anything inside with you only your documents and no one can go in but the applicant.

Wednesday, Thursday - We Waited.

Friday (02/02/18) - We received the email that the documents were ready to be picked up. We left ASAP to the CAS to pick them up. Its was quick, less than an hour. Make sure you write down your Tracking number so you can provide it to them, they do not allow you to have your cellphone on.

Saturday (02/03/18) - We checked out the hotel and left home. At the border, my husband had to get off to get his passport sealed. Do not open the sealed package! He took less than 30 mins and we were on our way home! javascript:emoticon('')
