Experience was overall great and the process went very smooth!
Our case: k1. First marriage for myself (petitioner and US Citizen,) second marriage for my fiance (beneficiary with dual citizenship Spain/Morocco, resident of Spain.)
On the day of the interview, both my fiance and I went to the consulate together. We arrived about 20 minutes early. There was a woman waiting outfront who looked up my fiance's name to check his interview time and looked at both of our passports. She asked to wait just a moment for security to take us inside. Security had us empty our pockets and go through a metal detector. We left our cellphones and a small bag with them, only taking our papers inside with us. When we went inside, there was another woman who asked for my fiance's name, she checked for his interview time and then checked us in. We received a number and were told to just wait until called to one of the windows. We waited maybe 10 minutes and my fiance was called to a window. A woman asked for some basic information, took his medical documentation, and confirmed they had all of the necessary paperwork for our case already. She also gave him back his original birth certificate and divorce papers. Then she advised my fiance to wait until called again for his interview. We waited maybe 10 more minutes before he was called up to a different window with another woman. He was again asked to confirm some basic information to ensure the case details and then she asked him a few questions - When did you move to Spain? How and when did you and your fiancee meet? When were you divorced? What does your fiancee do for work? Have you ever visited the USA? Do you have any more photos with your fiancee? We had printed 6 pages with multiple color photos on each and captions from the past six months so he showed her these. The woman looked through the photos and then told him everything was good and he was approved. She gave him his medical documents for when he enters the US and told him that he would get his passport in about 1 week with the visa inside. And that was it! We walked out together, collected our things from security, and went on with our day. I received several emails 2 days later saying that our documents were with Correos and gave a tracking number. The emails state that we should be able to pick them up from the post office within 1-2 business days.
