Our interview was on August 4th at 26 Federal Plaza at 10:15 AM. We brought our 1 year old daughter with us since we could not find child care. We arrived at 9:45 and went through security and then headed upstairs to the 8th floor.
When we got to the 8th floor we handed our interview notice to the security outside who told us to go to window 57. At window 57 a nice gentleman took our notice asked us if we were waiting for an attorney --we weren't-- and if we needed a translator and in what language --we needed a Spanish speaking translator. We then were told to go to another window were we were given the number K11.
We waited about 20 minutes before being called in to interview with a Ms. Ruiz. She did not seem overly friendly, but not rude either, she didn't seem to mind that we brought our daughter. When we got to her office she swore us in in Spanish and asked us to sit, then she asked for originals of all the documents we submitted. She collected the documents and wrote in our file, then she asked if we had anything in both our names and we gave her some bills, she asked for pictures and took one for her file. She then asked my husband for his name, address, birth date and the yes or no questions on the I485. She didn't ask anything else, no how did you meet questions or anything. She gave us the letter that says it could take up to 120 to make a decision and that was it.
The interview did not take more than 15 minutes, it was mostly her collecting documents and writing in our file. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
