Arrived in Juarez 06/15/2017. Traveled by plane from Dallas, TX to El Paso, Tx, then took a taxi to cross the border.
We stayed at Microtel Inn, which included free breakfast. Breakfast was very delicious, home cooked Mexican dishes.
Room was very clean and nice comfortable bed, had a nice tv with a lot of channels. Staff was excellent. Everyone would gather in the front lobby and talk about their experiences and stories. Meeting new people was really nice. Located right next to Denny's and Wendy's, and right accross from the Missiones Mall

My husband had his medical appointment at Servicios Medicos de la Frontera at 7am, but we arrived (walked, very close to Microtel) at 6am. was number #6 to get called in. It only took him an hour and received 3 shots. But had to go back to talk to a pyschology because my husband has a DWI on his record. My husband said they didn't ask him if he had been arrested, that they just told him to sign a paper. But through reading about other experiences I knew he would go to a psychologist. So when he came out I asked him and we had to go back so he could tell them he had been arrested. They took him back quickly and only took 5 minutes. All the Dr. asked was the date of the arrest. We returned that same day at 3:30pm to pick up the results. He paid $340.

His biometrics appointment was on Saturday 06/17/2017 at 9am
We arrived 15 minutes before and we had to wait until the actual time of appointment. It only took 15 minutes.

Interview appointment on Monday 06/19/17 at 9:45a
We arrived at 7am because we could waiting around in the hotel room, we were so anxious. I had everything that they were going to ask for ready for him and had all the things they may ask him for in another binder. They did let him in and he was out by 9:22am
Questions:
Entry date
Wedding date
asked about tattoos- has 3
ask if he had 2 sons- he said no 2 daughters
problems with the police- yes
officer said DWI?
my husband answered yes.

documents asked for
carta de no antecedentes penals
marriage certificate
his birth certificate

Congratulations you have been approved!
My husband said the officer was really nice. That he spoke broken spanish so he didn't try to make a lot of conversation.

The only issue we had was that his visa was not printed that day (ISSUED) as it usually is. After it says ISSUED when you check status on the nvc website (ceac.state.gov) it takes 2 days if you asked for it to be sent to the same location as the biometrics ( which we did).
It didn't change until friday 06/23/17.

We had only reserved the hotel til Thursday which we thought was plenty of time. But since it still wasn't updating in the system we had to reserve another hotel. We chose Quality Inn. Which was amazing service, rooms were great, staff was very friendly, and was very nice building and out door section. Free breakfast was good mexican dishes. A lot more variety than Microtel. More family oriented.

So on Friday 06/23/17 if finally changed to Issued and we received the package on Monday the 06/26/17 at 2:30 pm!!

That was 12 longs days total!

My advice when staying at the hotel is to get to know the people, everyone is in the same situation and its nice to talk about the different experiences. some people have no clue what is going on or what they need to do, so it feels good to help others as well.
Also if you stay in the area where the consulate is, every thing is safe. Money advice- take as much change in dollars as possible (1s,5s,10s,20s) its alot cheaper than paying with pesos. and if you pay with dollars and is getting change back they will give it back in pesos. everything is very expensive when paying in pesos. mostly everywhere they take dollars.
