My AOS interview appointment was on June 8 at 8:15 am. We got the federal building at 7. There was already a short line to get in. Security is way slower than the airport so try to get there an hour early just in case. You can bring your phone and there's food stand on the first floor and I believe a coffee shop on the 2nd. They'll let you bring coffee/water/food from there up to 8th floor as long you don't spill and make a mess.
There were two waiting rooms. Depends where your IO office is is where you would wait. We ended up waiting where they usually have US Citizenship applicants wait since our IO's office is in that area. We were the first applicant to drop our letter but didn't get called until 8:30. Our IO, Mr. Lee, was a very serious guy. Deep voice and he could be intimidating. But he was actually fair! We sworn, asked for ID, passports, and marriage certificate.
The questions he asked were:
How did you meet?
The yes/no questions.
When was the last time I entered the US.
The last places I lived.
The interview was less than 10 mins. He didn't asked for additional joint documents or photos. He had wait another 5 mins at the waiting rooms and handed me my approval notice.
Overall it was quick and quite easy. I believe if you have a good case, your interview will be quick too!
