My appointment was scheduled for May 16, 2017. We arrived Thursday May 11 to ciudad Juárez. We had made reservations at the quality inn (which was a great choice, being that everything has been a short walking distance).
Friday 5/12- I had my medical exam scheduled for 7 am at clÃnica médica internacional. I arrived at 6:30, they let me in early. I must say I was very impressed with how very well organized everything was. The employees there were all very nice and professional. I had to get 3 vaccines. So I paid $220 plus tax for the medical exam and about $160 for the vaccines. I was finished by like 8:30. They told me to go back at 1:30 to pick up my results. We went back around 1:15. There was about 30 other people waiting for their results as well. After about 35/45 min they started calling out names. So the total time waiting to get my results was about 45/50 minutes.
Saturday and Sunday were very long days for us. We went to the mall to pass time. Which is a 20 min walk from our hotel. They have a movie theater in there, so we caught a movie. Is a really nice theater. Also wakes around and ate. We were anxious to keep the process going and couldn't wait until Monday.
Monday 5/15- I had my finger print appointment at 7am at the ASC. I was in and out in 15 minutes. It's a super quick process. You get your finger prints and picture taken and you're on your way out.
The BiG DAY! Tuesday 5/16- my appointment was scheduled for 9:15. I arrived there at 8:45 and was let right in. I was so nervous but tried to keep my cool. From my experience, all of the employees were pretty nice. You go through security then go to an outdoor type of big "bodega" filled with a bunch of chairs. I waited there about an hour. They take you in to another building by order. About 15/20 people at a time. Once you go into the other building, they start directing people to windows to show your paperwork. I was called to a window after like 15 minutes. I had a really nice guy ask for my birth and marriage certificate. Then was told to sit and wait to be called to a window. Then I was told to stand in line for a window. There were about 15/20 people ahead of me. It was almost like a bank window. You can hear everyone else's interviews. It was so nerve wrecking. My line was goin so slow because 3 windows out of the 8 were closed. I saw an officer that was joking and conversations with other applicants and I crossed my fingers to get him because he seemed super nice and I saw him approve 2 people as I waited. With god listening to my prayers, after about 25 minutes in line, his window opened up and I was up next to see the super nice friendly officer who I had hoped I would get. That made me feel a little less nervous. He greeted me and looked at my file and said how much he loved the city I lived in. So I can sum up my interview by saying that it felt more like a conversation rather than an interview. He only asked if I had trouble with the law, and if I ever left the US after entering the first time. He asked if my husband was back home or with me, I said he was here with me and he said" then you will give him the good news in person" he was truly a great person. I had an amazing experience. I think as long as everyone has the paper work that they're asked for, then everything will be ok.
Now I just have to wait for my tracking number to pick up my package and get back to my home and my baby!!
