Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had our AOS interview in mid March 2017. On our interview date we went in and registered with the receptionist and went into the waiting room. We arrived about 20 minutes before our scheduled appointment time. We finally got called in about an hour after our scheduled appointment time. Our actual interview went very quickly. Maybe 10 minutes tops. We were asked to provide any proof of relationship we might want to add to our case. We provided a lot of photos, joint bank account and beneficiary statements from my work benefits showing her on them. They only asked a few questions, mostly verifying that what we put on the I-485 form was correct. My wife's birthdate and her parents names. The officer told us she would approve us but we needed to provide one missing test result from her medical that was done in Taiwan. Apparently there was a change in requirements for the medical that took place August 1st last year which was a month or so before her medical in Taiwan and the civil surgeon failed to do the additional test. We had a copy of the medical exam with us at the interview but it was the same information the officer already had. We spent the afternoon after the interview rushing to a civil surgeon's office to get the one missing test done. Our interview was on a Thursday. We had the missing test done thursday afternoon. The doctor's office provided us with the results the following monday. We fedex'd them back to the immigration office that recieved them thursday. We got an update in the USCIS system that her greencard was approved friday the following week. It would be really nice if they would have sent us an RFE for the missing test before our interview so we could have gotten it and returned it in the 4 months since submitting our AOS application.
