Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We arrived a bit early expecting to have to wait in line but there was not one. We were asked to check in at 2:15 for our 2:30 appointment. We sat in the waiting room for about 30 minutes gauging the officers calling other people back hoping we got a "happy person". But they all seemed pleasant enough. When were were called a nice older woman lead us back to her office. She explained to us the process and that she would mostly be talking to my husband. He asked if he would be able to ask me for clarification if he got confused and she said it was no problem. She went over some basic questions from the application and asked him to verify our basic information. It didn't seem like an interview. More like a conversation. She asked for his divorce information, birth certificate and our passports. She stated my affidavit of support was good and didn't ask for any other financial documents. She casually asked out our wedding, where we had traveled, and if we had any pictures. I gave her about 20 pictures. She picked about 8 to keep for copies. The pictures she kept were group pictures with friends and family as well as pictures of us on vacation. She said she planned on approving our application but if anything went wrong we would get notice within 14 day. She said she liked us as a couple and told us what to expect and how to prepare for the ROC.
All in all it was a very pleasant experience. We were nervous for no reason.
