Just had my K1 visa interview on February 2nd, 2017, at 8.30.
I arrived at around 8 with plenty of people waiting in line... for non-immigrant visas! Nobody was in the line for immigrant visas/US citizens inquiries, which is where I was supposed to stand  Stood there for about 1 minute with my friend before the nice security guard told me to come forward.
Went through security, left my phone in a property box and walked in. There was nobody inside except security and people working there so I headed directly for window 7. A really nice man took my passport and visa application confirmation and then proceeded to tell me this was not the interview but that he was going to collect all the necessary documents.
Because my fiancé had mailed me the I-134 + pay stubs + employment letter + 1040 form and it had not yet arrived (SO upset with the US Postal Services at the moment) I knew I didn't have the evidence of support documentation needed, but I had everything else. So I explained it to the officer and he was really nice about it, telling me I could mail them to the embassy later. He also asked for evidence of our relationship and I gave him some photos and showed him our wedding bands we have had done. He asked me a few questions about when we met and how long we had been together and what I did for a living. He made me feel so at ease!
He then told me to sit down to wait for the consular officer for the interview, but then asked me to the window again for a few other questions and maybe 15 minutes later I was asked to window 4 for the interview.
Another nice man told me to take an oath not to lie, took my fingerprints, and then proceeded with the interview. He asked me when we met, how much we had seen each other during our years in a long distance relationship and when we saw each other last. He asked me how we communicated when we were apart. He also asked me what my fiancé did for a living and then how I was going to support myself in the United States. Lastly, he asked me what plans we had for the wedding and gave me back my photos.
He then told me he couldn't issue a visa right now since they didn't have my affidavit papers but that I qualify for a visa and assuming all papers are in order *praying they will be in the mail soon* they would issue a visa and I would have it in the mail 2 weeks later.
SO RELIEVED, but so annoyed with the postal services because if I had all the papers, my visa would be processing right now. Fingers crossed it will be in the mail on Monday!
