Turned up to london via the megabus, which wasnt as bad as i thought, although the driver repeatedly wakened everyone up with announcements of which stop we were at, not too bad for the price though. got to London at around 8am, so had loads of time to get across to the embassy. I wandered around aimlessly looking around the area until my legs got sore and i got bored, which was around 10am and my appointment wasnt until 13:30. anyway i decided to go to the actual embassy and see where it is and how to get in etc, so i could turn up nearer the time, but upon getting there and following the signs i thought id just try and get in, id may as well sit in there than in the park. so I got to the first check point, where there were two freindly looking people waiting (no queue at all!) i showed them my paperwork and they gave me a little bag for my phone etc and was then directed to the metal detector guards, where my phone was taken from me and a ticket given to me for retrieval on the way out. they were quite jovial which was nice. I then took the long walk round the embassy to the front door where i gave My paperwork and was given a little ticket with a number and told to go and wait in the waiting room. the waiting room was really large with big screens and full of people, so i got a seat where i could see the screens clearly and waited, it didnt take too long before i was called, maybe half hour or so. so i went to the desk and was asked for all my paperwork by a friendly American woman, then paid at the window next to the one i was at. i then sat down again and waited to be called again. this took around 20 minutes before i was called, i went up to the window and was asked all the usual questions "where did you meet etc etc" i answered all these easily obviously and That was about it really, i was asked to go and choose delivery options with the company at the exit, which was easy, i paid them and was on my way out to collect my phone and phone my fiancee at about 5:30am her time, but she was delighted i did of course. Everyone seemed really friendly and helpful at the embassy, and i passed the time by chatting with the woman next to me who was in for a work visa. then the long wait for the plane home which i booked for 7:30pm to give me loads of time to get stuff done in the embassy. all in all a good visit.javascript:emoticon('')
