The consular officers went back and forth with each other and what looked like discussing our file. My very patient fiancé' sat and watched the others which came in after him and have their interview. After waiting around several hours his number was finally called. The consular begin with asking him various questions about how we met and how often I come to visit. The consular later began making false accusations and drawing a conclusion about our relationship which was getting very offensive. By the end, the consular did not give my fiancé' a real decision at that time. However, I had to reach out to my local congressman's office in Virginia who reached out to Lagos Consulate's office on our behalf. It was later determined that he was not eligible for the visa category for which he was applying. "The beneficiary and petitioner failed to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the consular officer that they have entered into a bona fide relationship. As a result, the I-129F petition will be returned to the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (DHS/USCIS) with a recommendation for revocation".
The USCIS NOA 1 and NOA 2 was received /approved whereby everything during the process was going smoothly even the NVC sent a very timely letter to me. I had called the Lagos Consulates office twice to inquire about the appointment schedule. I find that office to be very lackadaisical and what later seemed unorganized in addition to basing their decision on nonfactual information.
I have hired an immigration attorney who is now filing our I-130F as we've moved ahead and had our wedding on 12/09/2016 in Ikoyi, Lagos. It's a very expensive, frustrating and yet tidies process however, We are strong believers in our faith and we know this exasperating time will soon be over and by God's glory we'll be in our own home “living together" as husband and wife before the end of 2017!
