Had a great experience with the Frankfurt consulate.
My initial appointment was pushed forward by over 4 weeks to my personal request. I sent an email to the consulate directly, once my case was in transit and the physical file was received. I informed them, that I already passed the medical exam and had everything ready and could come to any spontaneous appointment. I got a phone call then a week later, if I would be available the next day and took the offer.
So booked myself a hotel, drove to Frankfurt and had my appointment Thursday the following morning at 9:30.
As for the regular procedure, all has been explained here multiple times and it wasn't different in my case. Took about 90 Min. total. Very friendly and relaxed people. Forgot to take out the xray CD out of my documents, but they put it into a lock box and gave me a number to pick it up later, no big deal.
As for the actual interview with the consul: it was obvious, that EB-1 cases are rare, since most if those are done through "adjustment of status" already being in the US, rather then consular processing from a foreign country. And so the questions gave me the impression, it was more for testing are YOU really YOU and not questioning the USCIS decision in regards to being extra ordinary even though he could revoke the petition at this time and send it back.
However I was asked about my income quite a bit, without having to show any documents. I had tax returns and bank statements with me, but they were not needed.
Got approved! Well it was "I think you are fine and should have you visa in the mail in about a week, good luck!". CEAC status changed to "administrative processing" on the same day and to "issued" the next. Passport was already in my mail 2 days later.
Good luck to anybody following on this path!
