Review Topic: K1 Visa

Our interview time was 10:30. We showed up at the park at 6am. Waited for the lady to call names. We listened and when your name was called you were to walk across the street and stand in a line. We waited till about 7ish to hear his name called. We went across the street and waited till about 8 - 8:30 when we were lead down the street to the entrance. They check your bags, and take pretty much everything except papers, and food. There is a store across the street that will hold your cell phone for the day for a small fee. We then went through the security line and sat in what was like a holding cell with about 20 other people. You wait until they call your name. You then go into the building and wait again where there are about 5-6 windows. They will call your name again. Ask you a few questions at the window and take the additional evidence. They also take fingerprints here, but they did not take my fiance fingerprints at this window. (don't panic). We then were lead into the building, went through another security check and then walked into the room where everyone waits. They tell you where to sit. There are windows lined up on the back wall, and then one window in the front with two rooms. People were going into these rooms, and coming out either happy or sad. The windows in the back were for people picking up their visa. We sat there until 4PM. We were the LAST two people in the waiting room aside from the 4 women who work there. We were called to the window not a room. The man spoke VERY LITTLE ENGLISH so my fiance couldn't understand some of his questions. He seemed confused.. He only asked a few questions to each of us. He was more interested in the computer and papers. He said I submitted a TON of evidence. He was nice actually talked to me about personal things not related to the VISA which was shocking because most people say they are cold towards the petitioner. We were not separated he talked to us both together.
I think I submitted so much evidence he was overwhelmed but hey it helped.

He asked my fiance about his family, his medical and vaccinations, how many times I had been to cuba, how we meet, and if I had met anyone in his family. He asked me who was in a photo with me, (it was my fiance's dad). He asked how many time I had been to cuba, if I had meet his family members, what made my go to cuba the first time, why did I continue to come back, our religion and if we are going to incorporate that into our wedding plans, where my family lived in the states, where will my fiance work, how do we communicate with each other, if he had family in America.
He said okay you can pick up for VISA Monday and headed us the paper. Of course this is Cuba so the VISA wasn't ready on Monday. It was ready 9 days later and I feel that was because I contacted my congresswoman to put a call in to see when it would be issued. Then again the website does state 10 days. I am impatient.
