Anya had her interview on August 16, she was very nervous.
She arrived a few days earlier for her medical exam. So she decided to go to the US Embassy in Kiev to familiarize herself with the area. She was outside the area when a US Guard approached her and asked her if she needed help. She was nervous however the guard was VERY nice to her and told her the process. She was very relieved at talking to him and she commented to me several times that he was just so nice. He must have seen that she was nervous.
When she arrived she waiting in the area as told. She had to give her documentation which they kept and called her later to her interview.
When she sat down for her interview, the man looked at her and told her that her documentation was great and that he had NO questions for her. She put a HUGE smile on her face. He noticed that and told her "Welcome to America". She was then asked to go to window to pay.
She was very happy and was trying to understand why so many women had told her horror stories. She felt the whole process was easy and the people in the Embassy were Overly Friendly.
She stated she will listen to ME for now on. LOL
The overall experience with the Kiev Embassy was a 5 as well. From the phone calls I had with them to the emails I sent. Emails were replied to within 24 hours (due to time difference) phone calls were great as they answered pretty much all my questions.
I give the US Kiev Embassy a 5 for not only doing a good job, but noticing that these ladies are future wives of US Citizens and were treated very nicely.
Unlike here in the US, Government workers sometimes feel they should not work, much less be nice to you.
Kiev Embassy ROCKS!
