I was inside the consulate for a total amount of 40 minutes.

I had my appointment at 9 am and there was nobody besides me at the 2 windows outside. Together with the short secruity check, before you enter the building for more secruity checks, it took not even two minutes to get in.

The secruity inside is basically the same procedure as the ones at airports.

After that, I finally went into the actual consulate buildung and directly to window 2 (KASSE) and paid the interview fee. I paid in Euro, so it was 293€. They also took my passport there.

Then I waited for maybe 10 minutes or 15 minutes and got called up to go the window with a case worker behind it. They talk you through your package and see if all the information you provided is correct.

After that, I waited for a little longer and finally had the interview.
The lady I talked to just asked me some easy questions such as: Where did you meet? How was your first date? What is your spouse working? Why do you want to immigrate to the U.S.?

The interview probably took 4 minutes or so, then I got told that I was approved

All in all it took 6-7 weeks, from submitting the I-130, to having the passport with the visa in it in my mail box.

The people at the consulate were all very friendly and helpful!
