My Fiance went to her interview on August 22. She arrived early before the Consulate opened and got in line. The line moved fairly quickly and soon she was handing her paperwork to an employee. Next she waited to be called for her interview. This seemed to go just as others have described so far and was not unlike what we expected. So she was called for her interview and this is how she related the experience: It was short but a little intimidating. The interviewer stared straight at her the entire time. The interviewer asked a couple of general questions and then asked her to scan her fingerprints. Looking back, we think that at that point and maybe before, it had been decided that she was approved already, but a few questions were standard. After fingerprinting a couple more general questions to which My Fiance got a little nervous and started talking too much. The interviewer interrupted her and said "don't say any more, you are approved" all the while just staring straight ahead. My Fiance thanked her and left. The interviewer never really responded other than to say "bye". It seemed like she just wanted to get to the next case.
All in all, since we were approved it was not a pretty good experience. I can understand the seriousness of the interviewer. We were very prepared with potential questions and proof of relationship papers, photos and such. The questions were what we expected. I don't think they even looked at the proof of relationship papers or photos. As my favorite quarterback Russell Wilson would say "the separation is in the preparation". We were prepared because of VJ, and we succeeded in this part of our journey.
