Long wait time, wife had to wait outside (there's a coffee place up the hill). I came super prepared with papers about my whole life, bank accounts, work and so on. None of that was needed.
The process is really straight forward. You go in past security (don't bring your phone as you'll have to check it in!), go out of the security building and into the next building which is the consulate proper. There you tell the person at the front that you're here for an immigration visa interview - and they send you to sit at a special section not governed by the queue numbers. When it's your turn (took more than an hour for me) they'll call you to a side window where they'll take your original papers and compare them with what you sent to the NVC. then wait again.
When it's your turn again, you go to the interview window, where you'll be asked why you want to come to the US and some details about your life and your relative. Then its "it's approved" and you wait again.
3rd time (3rd window) is dealing with the documents after approval, handing in the passport and so on.
And that's it. on the way out you don't forget to breathe again ![](smile.gif)
