I am new to the visa process so there were some problems at first. First of all the consular wasn't sure of the right answer of how to start the visa process so I was given a number to call at the embassy. I called and asked if I could start the process there as I heard it was faster but was told that they don't do that anymore (wrong answer, it was July and the memo to start accepting again was in March). Also, the I-130 that was given to me was 2 years old but at the time I didn't know to check for current fees so I sent in the form and was (will be) sent back (within 90 days). I attribute my delays to not researching enough on my own but the embassy should know what they are doing and having more American employees might make a difference as well, the only American I talked with was the Consular. I am now a month and a half behind and go home in a month and a half. Remember to research before trusting people who you think would know. If the process was initiated at the embassy they incorect fee thing would have been caught, luckily I had copies of the documents but the fees doubled in the mean time.
