Our appointment was scheduled for July 14th at 10:15 AM. We drove over to Philadelphia the evening before and stayed at the Sheraton Downtown Hotel, which is approximately a twelve minute drive from the USCIS office.
I woke up at 7:30 on the day of the interview, and took my time getting ready. My goal was for us to leave at 9:30. We ended up leaving at 9:45, so it was a little later than expected. We drove to the USCIS office and paid 12 dollars for all-day parking in the lot across the street from the USCIS office.
We entered the building, where a very kind security guard looked at our IDs and appointment letter. There were a few people in line at the security check, which meant we were a bit delayed, but it didn't matter. After the security check, we took the stairs to the second floor and walked to the registration desk. The woman took our appointment letter, wrote some stuff on it, and told us to take a seat by door number three.
We were called in within ten minutes. Our Officer was a young man of middle eastern descent. He was very pleasant and respectful. We were put under oath, asked for our IDs. The officer asked for my husbands proof of US Citizenship, and then asked us questions from the forms, such as date of marriage, birthdates, and SSN. He then asked to see the birth certificate. The officer asked how we met, and then began asking the yes//no questions on the i485. He then said he was happy with what he'd seen and asked if there was anything else we'd like to show him. I showed him our album and he looked through them quickly. He said our case was pretty straightforward and that he was 100% recommending us for approval; he just had to look over the file and take it to his supervisor.
He then said we were good to go and went over the Removal of Conditions procedures. We did not receive a letter of approval, or indicating that was case held for review.
The interview lasted about ten minutes!
As far as the office: it was great! Very clean and organized, and the staff was very professional and friendly.
